Mary’s Little Lamb is a five-piece band, bringing filmic alt-country and Americana, in which the brass section and the deep voice of the singer play prominent parts. Since 2015 the band consists of Bart Hendrickx (vocals, guitar, banjo), Bert Cuypers (upright bass), Mike Van Daele (drums), Kevin Van Hoof (trumpet) and Stijn Cumps (trumpet).

 

Proof of the scenic qualities of the songs of Mary’s Little Lamb is that they found their way into the soundtrack of several shows on national television.

 

In February 2017 ‘Elixir for the Drifter’ was released on record label Rootz Rumble. This critically acclaimed album of Mary’s Little Lamb is a bubbling cocktail of musical styles. The band carries you past a series of diverse scenes, through dark and captivating stories of love, betrayal, magic, escape and loss.

On ‘Elixir for the Drifter’ Mary’s Little Lamb alternates between big soundscapes, thickened by strings and brass, and more subdued, acoustic songs. Mary's Little Lamb is een vijfkoppige groep die alt.country en broeierige americana brengt en waarin de blazerssectie en de goudbruine stem van de zanger een prominente rol spelen.

De band bestaat sinds 2015 uit Bart Hendrickx (zang, gitaar, banjo), Bert Cuypers (contrabas), Mike Van Daele (drums), Kevin Van Hoof (trompet) en Stijn Cumps (trompet).

 

In december 2014 kwam hun debuutalbum 'Fortune & Chance' uit, waaruit enkele nummers werden gebruikt in de soundtrack van de fictiereeks De Ridder en in de docureeks De Fiscus. Een duidelijk bewijs van het filmische karakter van de muziek.

 

In februari 2017 werd 'Elixir for the Drifter' uitgebracht op platenlabel Rootz Rumble. Dit bejubelde album van Mary's Little Lamb is een borrelende cocktail van muzikale stijlen. De band voert je langs een reeks uiteenlopende scenes, door donkere verhalen over vlucht, liefde, magie, verraad en verlies.

 

Op ‘Elixir for the Drifter’ laveert Mary's Little Lamb tussen grootse, door blazers en strijkers gespekte soundscapes en sober gearrangeerde, ingetogen nummers. Je hoort er songs met feestelijke latin- en texmexgeluiden, andere nummers geven een vette knipoog naar de spaghettiwesterns uit de jaren ’60.
